For you

  • Game pages have moved, once and for good, to addresses that name the sport and the matchup, such as sporacle.app/nfl/2026/1/ne-at-sea/ (or sf-vs-la/ for a game at a neutral site). Week pages are at /nfl/<season>/<week>/, and archived editions keep their names, at addresses that now begin with /nfl/. Every old address, including shared links and archived editions, sends you to the new one permanently. Calendar subscriptions keep their events: nothing duplicates.

Under the hood

  • The build writes dist/_redirects: a 301 for both forms of each of the 321 game addresses that existed on move day (site/src/data/legacy-game-routes.json, generated once from the published schedule and pinned by its hash), one pattern rule each for week pages and archived editions, the old games index address to the home page, and the kept rankings rule.
  • Game, week and edition addresses come from one set of helpers that read the schedule's site, so a neutral site game is always -vs-. Calendar UIDs come from the frozen legacy address. The sitemap, canonicals, search, the schedule, team schedules, the player page's game link, the share images and the header follow the move.
